Welcome to The Blue Trunk!
I’m Ujval Anand, the founder—and I’m so glad you’re here.
The Blue Trunk isn’t just about artifacts; it’s about stories, memories, and the magic of India’s heritage. My journey began in the corporate world, but my heart always belonged to travel, culture, and art. Collecting pieces of history filled me with a joy I couldn’t ignore—and that joy grew into The Blue Trunk.
At the heart of our Bombay gallery sits an old blue trunk—a symbol of everything we stand for. Today, I’m thrilled to share that same charm with you, wherever you are in India. Through our website, you can now explore and experience the collection anytime, from anywhere.
So, take a wander, discover what speaks to you, and let’s keep the magic alive—together.
With warmth,
Ujval Anand

This vintage brass statuette of Garuda was found in a town in central Maharashtra, where it had been part of a small household shrine for generations. Likely made by local artisans familiar with regional devotional styles, the piece blends simplicity with symbolic strength.
Garuda is depicted standing with hands joined in anjali mudra, a gesture of deep reverence, likely toward Lord Vishnu. His avian features — strong legs, beaked face, and outstretched wings — are stylised but clearly defined, suggesting devotion paired with protective strength. A tall, peaked crown and traces of jewelry add to his divine identity, though the execution remains modest, in keeping with older, regional brass work.
The surface bears a soft, aged patina that has built up over years of worship and exposure, giving the piece warmth and presence. Though not overly ornate, the figure holds quiet power — a devotional object shaped by time, belief, and the hands that once held it.
