Welcome to The Blue Trunk!
I’m Ujval Anand, the founder—and I’m so glad you’re here.
The Blue Trunk isn’t just about artifacts; it’s about stories, memories, and the magic of India’s heritage. My journey began in the corporate world, but my heart always belonged to travel, culture, and art. Collecting pieces of history filled me with a joy I couldn’t ignore—and that joy grew into The Blue Trunk.
At the heart of our Bombay gallery sits an old blue trunk—a symbol of everything we stand for. Today, I’m thrilled to share that same charm with you, wherever you are in India. Through our website, you can now explore and experience the collection anytime, from anywhere.
So, take a wander, discover what speaks to you, and let’s keep the magic alive—together.
With warmth,
Ujval Anand

Behold the mesmerizing beauty of this Kavadi-shaped panel, showcasing the divine presence of Goddess Saraswati seated gracefully on a fully bloomed lotus. The intricate carving of the goddess playing the veena, an embodiment of supreme knowledge, is truly remarkable. The top section of the panel is designed to resemble the majestic gopuram of a temple and features meticulously engraved details that further enhance its charm. The lower part of the panel is adorned with two exquisitely crafted birds and delicate motifs, adding a touch of elegance to this magnificent piece. Carved with exceptional precision from the finest Raintree wood, this collectible is truly a work of art that exudes an aura of sophistication. The panel comes with a hook on the reverse side, making it easy to hang and display in your home or office.
Kavadi is used as a part of the well known ceremonial offering practiced by devotees of Lord Murugan (the son of Shiva), as part of the Thaipusam festival in Tamil Nadu. The practice involves devotees carrying a burden/kavadi, to seek Lord Murugan’s help. Devotees usually carry the burdens while walking and dancing along a pilgrimage.
