Kar-i-Munnaqash : Hazaara Vase

This papier-mâché vase is crafted using Kar-i-Munnaqash, a traditional Kashmiri painting technique applied to papier-mâché surfaces. The vase is painted in pastel green and features intricate hand-painted motifs of Chinar leaves, a symbol strongly associated with Kashmiri culture. The dense, repeating pattern of the leaves gives the piece its name—Hazaara, meaning “a thousand,” referencing the abundance of Chinar motifs.
