What began as a personal passion for collecting has grown into The Blue Trunk, a collection of Indian vintage art, ritual objects, masks, wooden carvings and other cultural finds. Over the years, travel and encounters with collectors, families and artisans have shaped the way I discover and curate these pieces.
At our gallery in Aarey, Mumbai, an old blue trunk remains a symbol of the journey that started it all. Through this website, I’m delighted to share these discoveries with collectors and curious minds, wherever they may be.

A handcrafted Nettur Petti from Malabar, this traditional Kerala jewel box is both an object of function and beauty. Named after the village of Nettur near Kozhikode, it was once used by women of aristocratic households to store their ornaments. Entirely handmade—from its brass fittings to its distinctive pyramidal lid—it reflects the craftsmanship of multiple artisans. Inspired by temple architecture and Kerala’s traditional art forms, this box makes for an elegant jewellery holder or a statement décor piece that’s sure to spark conversation.
