This ornate vintage Mukhalingam from Maharashtra is a distinctive representation of Lord Shiva, combining the sacred form of the linga with a carved human face. Made as a single-piece covering, it was traditionally placed over a small stone linga during worship and could be removed by priests during the course of ritual practice.
