Vintage Floor Lamp

This remarkable artifact is a large and rare lost-wax cast bronze oil lamp hailing from South Kanara, situated along the coastal region of Karnataka. The lamp's elegance is unparalleled, featuring a distinctive design with an oil well at the top, adorned with five petal-like projections designed to accommodate wicks. The tapering stem has a simple yet attractive visual aesthetic, including a kumbha-like cushion element followed by two sets of lappet-like designs. The lamp is anchored on a circular drip pan, supported by a ring foot, completing the ensemble with a touch of sophistication and craftsmanship indicative of its origin.
