Vintage Prabhavali
This vintage Prabhavali from Andhra Pradesh is a finely crafted example of traditional sacred metal artistry. Its most striking feature is the rhythmically sculpted jwalas (flames) rising across the upper section, creating a powerful sense of movement and energy. At the top centre, a coiled Naga with an expanded hood presides over the form, lending it a commanding and protective presence.
At the two mid-level ends, where the jwala motifs emerge, finely detailed makaras anchor the composition, their mythic forms acting as guardians to the sacred aura. Departing from more conventional designs, the central section is articulated with elegant, aesthetic arches, enhancing the visual depth and distinguishing this Prabhavali as a refined and visually compelling piece.
